Our 31st Golf Dinner

A very successful dinner and auction evening was held on Friday March 26.

The evening was held at Wakehurst Golf Club; Eighty eight people attended and were treated to a wonderful 3 course dinner and gave strong support to the live auctions, silent auctions and raffles. This was the 31st Charity Golf dinner in the club's 47th year.

Due to the horrific weather conditions over earlier part of the week, carts could not be used on the course so the Golf part of our Charity event will now be held on Friday 23rd April, however this did not detract from people's enjoyment and support at the evening.

The Golf Day and Dinner is the major fundraiser of the club and benefits our local and international community programs which have all been greatly impacted over the last year due to Covid19 affecting their operations and effectiveness in many areas together with much greater demands on their facilities and resources.

Golf for a Cause:

The projects that are sponsored by the club in three major charities; Lifeline Northern Beaches, Bear Cottage and Dalwood Splistead Centre.was further briefly elaborated by key representatives if the charities.

Narelle Martin, Manager, Bear Cottage

Michael Mead - MC for the evening
Unfortunately, Kerry Gwynne Manager at Dalwood Splistead Child and Family Health was unable to attend (Get well soon Kerry!) so 'yours truly' explained the great work that they undertake at the Center.

Balgowlah Rotary have a policy of supporting specific projects – not merely proving funds to the organisation. The raffles and auctions directly assist community projects and number of charities.

These projects are more outlined in the earlier blog on our golf day activities.

Sponsors:

Two of the sponsors were recognised on the evening , the other sponsors will be attending the Golf Day now being held on April 23. Without the great support of our sponsors, our golf day and dinner would not be possible or a success. Your support of these businesses in turn gives support to our community.

The club would like to thank everyone who attended for their generous support and helped to make our major fundraiser such a success!

Many thanks to John O'Brien for the great photographs of the evening!

GOLF - It's on Friday April 23.

Due to the horrific weather conditions over the last week, we were unable to have carts so the Golf part of our Charity event needed to be moved to a new date.

Balgowlah Rotary's 31st annual charity Golf Day to raise further funds for local charities and Rotary youth projects will now be held on April 23. It's an Ambrose tournament for men and women at Wakehurst Golf Club. A revised flyer will be available soon. See you on the course!
