RAWCS Presentation and Club Citation

Our meeting held Tuesday August 15 was held at Club TOTEM Balgowlah. 19 members and guests attended. After welcoming our members and our guests, DGN John Campbell, Robert and Anne Thompson and Denise Horan; President Roger handed over the meeting to John Campbell.  John presented a 2022-2023 Citation from Rotary International President, Jennifer Jones to PP Rick van Brugge who accepted on behalf of the club. John explained that this award is given to a club that achieves a significant number of club goals in the year. Also , a most welcome award , the Presidents Award for Service 2022/23 . Presented to Sue Terry who was away at Changeover in June. Congratulations Sue! RAWCS Presentation PP Michael Mead gave a presentation on “What is RAWCS” (Rotary Australia World Community Service Ltd) plus outlined his experiences with two overseas projects (Myanmar & Timor Leste) and the many benefits generated by using RAWCS for projects. Youth Night - RYPEN 2023.

  This post is password protected and will only be made available to members and guests at the evening.   Youth Night – RYPEN 2023 In June 2023 Balgowlah Rotary Club sponsored 7 students:4 from Mackellar & 3 from Balgowlah Boys High to attend RYPEN – Rotary Youth Program of Enrichment. 5 students shared their stories with the club on Tuesday August 1, 2023, at a dinner held at Balgowlah Bowling Club, Balgowlah Heights. Co-Presidents Roger Gray and Di Hart OAM The evening was well attended with members partners and other guests in addition the the 5 students and their parent(s) President Roger opened the meeting welcoming members and guests then passed over to Pascal Grant who organised and managed the night.
