Hats for the homeless is an organisation run by Uniting volunteers, who have knitted a variety of Beenies, scarves and mittens. OneMeal was suggested by Community Northern Beaches as the appropriate organisation through which our flood relief funds could be best put to use in our local community. The ONE MEAL STORY On seeing what they did, we asked where our club might be able to contribute and it was then that we offered, last July, to do a delivery run each Monday. OneMeal is fully staffed, managed and operated entirely by volunteers. Food is collected from local restaurants, supermarkets, manufacturers. Cooking and portion preparation is done by many volunteers and then orders and deliveries assembled in the hub facility in Brookvale.  Drivers collect the meals plus fruit, vegetables and groceries and drop them off at homes and places that community organisations have notified to OneMeal as requiring/needing assistance.
