At last - our 32nd Memorial Golf Day

Our 32nd Charity Golf Day was held on Friday, February 17, 2023 at Wakehurst Golf Club in rather hot and windy conditions, following two unfortunate postponements during 2022- due to Covid and heavy rains* respectively (* link to report on Golf dinner at the bottom of this post).

Registration together with raffle, putting and guessing competitions started early with good support from players and guests.

The shotgun start was at 11am and Golf organiser, Lindy was ably assisted by Mayor Michael Regan to start the Ambrose Tournament.

The course was in splendid order with fewer players than previous years, however all were keen and eager to play and the day was successful.

As well as the players an army of volunteers assisted to make the day run as smoothly as possible – with positive feedback from players.

During the day, Drinks were available thanks to Joy Apps driving the drinks cart,  and being welcomed by all..

The club Golf Day started in 1989 as the Geoff Burge Memorial Cup, now the Club holds the event every year in memory of all the members of the Rotary Club of Balgowlah who have passed on to higher service.
