Over sixty people attended and were treated to a wonderful 3 course dinner and gave strong support to the live auctions, silent auctions and raffles. This was the clubs 32nd Charity Golf dinner in the club's 47th year.
Record rainfall and
flooding during the spring of 2021 and summer, autumn and winter of 2022 has
made the course barely playable and golf carts not permitted – most coastal
courses have had this problem. However, despite postponing this Golf Day on 3
occasions during the year, support and enjoyment at the evening event was extremely positive.
The Golf part of our charity event has now moved to
Friday February 17,
2023.
After President Rick welcomed the members and guests, Northern Beaches Councillor, Georgia Ryburn gave us great insight into the importance of service clubs like Rotary Balgowlah in our community and the great work they accomplish.

Moving talks were given by 3 charities where the support from the auctions and raffles held during the evening will enable some of their great work to continue.
Some of the silent Action items- all were well supported |
Our special speakers:
Club members were also invited to the Sunrise program live from the school a few months ago.
Donna Favalaro who has run the crisis centre at Lifeline Northern Beaches for many years said the strong connection with Rotary Balgowlah and our sponsoring and support of many programs that they do at the facility at Balgowlah has made more things possible and the future with new programs being developed.
Kerry outlined two amazing programs for children, Child's Play and Young and Needy and thanked the club for making a much of their work possible.
Elliot gets the bidding underway |
After finishing the meal, our auctioneer Elliot Shoebridge got proceedings underway and garnered great support fro all our live auction items.
Proceeds from the Golf Day and dinner go to our projects for local and international groups in need including Arranounbai, Dalwood Spilstead, Lifeline Northern Beaches, Bear Cottage and Rotary Youth activities.
In the past 30 years, over $500,000 has been raised and distributed, that is well over a million dollars in today's money.
The Club gratefully thanks our Sponsors and Major supporters.
