Never have an Off Day

 Our Guest Speaker:

Our guest speaker was John Bayot, who presented a challenging metal health approach to the club members and guests. John has studied mental health through three major streams: science, philosophy, and religion. Much of the information he presented has roots from ancient cultures and beliefs.

John started this journey over 30 years ago when his sister faced challenges, prompting him study and investigate many approaches to mental health from a variety of sources and backgrounds and acquire as much knowledge on the topic as possible. He is also writing a book entitled “Never have an Off Day”.

John's  Book : Never have an Off Day.
John said that the book “looks at a new paradigm in having a wider perspective on Mental Health issues and how best to apply the wisdom and arcane teachings of the ancient pass for humanities evolutionary process.”

John showed an image of poisonous South American frogs and explained their representation of negative ideas leading to depression in biblical times. One must get your ideas and outlook correct in living our lives and avoid negative and disruptive thoughts gaining control. There were many examples shown using ancient Egyptian and early Christian beliefs and symbols to illustrate this point and allowing love, truth and well-being entering one’s thoughts and how we live our lives. His approach primarily focuses on the paradigm of self-affirmation.

We appreciate him for sharing his methodology with our club members, which prompted us to reevaluate our perspectives and assumptions.

What has been happening:

Anzac Day

Michael Mead attended a moving service at Manly Corso and donated a book on behalf of the club members.

Then in the afternoon; Many helped at the StreetWork BBQ at Manly Oval.

Thanks to those members and volunteers (Pat Crowhurst, Mary Granqvuist [a potential member], Denise Horan, Rhonda Scotter, Rick and Chiaki van Brugge and Michael Mead) who volunteered and helped with this fundraiser for StreetWork.

Philip Loveday told Roger Gray that they grossed more than $4000, so a great effort, Philip has also asked if he and Streetwork colleague, Margaret Murdon, can speak at our club sometime soon
